Moonlighting and Northern Lighting
Just a quick one here. One of the things I have longed to see during my trip to Canada was the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights). While tidying up on Saturday during my Porting shift, I was approached by a guest who asked to see the bill. I asked who his server was, and he told me who it was but that he couldn't find her anywhere. After a short search I found everyone outside, looking upwards. The server saw her guest and came back, but I stayed behind and copied everyone who was staring at the sky. Then I saw these sea-green sheets billowing and swirling across the sky. When I'd seen movies of the Lights before I thought that the film had been sped up, but in reality they move pretty quickly. We didn't quite have the show that those in Banff saw at about 1:30 in the morning, but it was quite spectacular and certainly hypnotic. But this display was unusual enough for the locals to be talking about it in the morning, and I feel privilidged to count myself as one of the few on-hill staff who saw it that night.
However, rather depressingly, even after my long day shadowing and my long day porting, it's time again for Daylight Savings in Canada so I had 1 hour's less sleep than normal. And I've still not managed to catch up!

That is a seriously nice picture, doubt that someone not a professional photographer took it but still....
Glad that your ski-lesson went well, I guess that everyone is kinda tying up ends and being to think of heading home now? As the season draws to an end, how do you think that it has gone?

I'm pretty jealous cos I also have always wanted to see the Northern Lights - but am hoping to tick that box in May, either in Canada or Alaska
