Tour of Sunshine

We got up early, took the bus to Sunshine, and skied all morning.

After lunch, I went to do some laundry and practice my sax (which has been brought over for me to play with my roommate in one of the restaurants in the evenings), while David went off with a guide. I then met up with them both, and we skied some more.

Once the guide went off to pick up his child, we went skiing a little more, finally finishing at 3:30.

By the end of the day, we'd skied every lift on the mountain, skied moguls, powder, ice and groomed runs. We had got cold in -40 wind chill, stuck in deep snow on a long, flat straight, and lost and found a pole off one of the lifts. But we'd had an amazing day, not fallen over once, and spent a whole $12 in the process...

Need I say more?

  • Yes - I think an explanation is needed as to how you could so carelessly have spent $12 up a mountain.. :-)

Well done guys - have a great Christmas fortnight.

  • Hey guys

good to read about your antics - though I thought you learnt about the frozen tongue experiment when you were 5! Re your questions about escalators, I don't think England is organised enough to have a set right-of-way. I think it depends on how many there are and how they want people to exit - certainly in shops I have ridden on the right and left. I'll be interested to hear what other people think.

I liked the fab photos you took in lovely visibility, the mountains look awesome and I still have to say the $1,000,000 view is spectacular, although in view of inflation and what the hotel is worth, I'm sure that figure has gone up 10 fold.

It's nice that you have been to see the latest must-see film and I'm sure that reading the book first helped with understanding the characters. I trust there will be other things happening over the christmas week - such as carol singing etc. Hope its fun for you both and you are meeting jovial sorts.

Glad to hear the skiing went well on the first day, I'm worn out just thinking about it. Phew! I bet those muscles burnt at times. Well done you, especially coping with all the different terrains.

Till we next speak, enjoy and take care. xxxxxxxxxx
