First steps

So Thursday the resort opened, and I started work proper. I was working at Guest Services at the bottom of the gondola with Kate, supervisor and Dayna, fellow colleague from England but also girlfriend of one of the instructors. We got familiar with the computer system and the infinately complex combination of lessons we offered, and come lunchtime I was superfluous to requirements and was allowed to go out on a ski break! Although not all the trails were open, we had plenty of powder and enough working lifts to entertain me for a while. Until found a great, untouched route through the trees, with deep powder and no other trails in it. Then it lead me to a reservoir I had to walk around. So that's why the route was untouched...

Friday I was in the Old Sunshine Lodge in the Village itself, and was acquainted to the joys of Staff Cafe. A cheap establishment, it reminds me of Duke of York's food. But maybe a little less greasy with a bit better salad. Enough said.
