New Year! Happy 2008!

Now, the reason all the photos below are © Georgie Pember, is because I spent most of the night in Chimney Corner with my mouth affixed to my sax. Scheduled to play from 9:00 to 11:00, we were asked to take a half-hour break at 10:30 and start again at 11:00 for a little extra money. Of course, we gave in, and it was the best gig we've done, because at last we could get rid of that awful carol book!

But it meant I got to Mad Trapper's at 11:50, and with no time to catch up before midnight, I wasn't really part of the party. Was it worth the extra dosh? I don't really know, it was the most important party of the year! But Patrick would rather have been at Chimney than Trappers, so I guess I helped him out. And my bank account, that's grateful too.

I went to bed, with a checking-on-the-drunks en route, and slightly sore throat. I didn't think much of it.... IDIOT!
