Moving Out, Trying On and Moving In

I spent most of the morning lying in bed, then moving myself out of SameSun, and having a huge pancake breakfast. Then I went into town to go and find some ski boots.

I went to lots of different shops, trying on many different brands and models, but it turned out that the pair which were consistently the best fitting were the first I tried on, and the cheapest place to get them was the first place I went! So these are them, Salomon Impact 10, for about $170 cheaper than I might otherwise get them.

Next, I collected my paycheck and had lunch at the Keg, went to the rummage sale and picked up a mattress cover, some plates and cups, and was given a nice MEC rucksack to put it all in. I went up to Banff Springs, dropped of my bike and caggage, took a Taxi back to the SameSun to pick up my stuff and meet Scott, who was waiting, and we hit the road.

My bike, in its new home in the bike park of Banff Springs. Rather worrying was the front wheel that had been locked to the bike rack. Evidently there was once something expensive attached to it... That's why I have no reason to worry about my $100 bike!

Bourgeau building in Banff Springs- my new home. My room is on the first floor (which is ground level at the back because it's built on a slope), on the back side.

The next door neighbours...

On the way towards Calgary, we stopped off at a Tim Hortons (a Canadian fast food outlet that's about as common as UK roundabouts, as I mean at the end of every road) to have some broccoli soup. And a free sandwich. Whatever.

So we made our way to Okotoks, admittedly through the centre of Calgary, and Scott dropped me off here. I watched a film, had a shower, and just as I was thinking those bizarre thoughts that come just before sleep, John and Chris arrived home.
