Chilling.

After a slow wake-up, and spending £50 phoning home, we went to Cu Nim gliding club. Unfortunately the main activity involved repairing the hangar, not flying, so we turned around and went home. I spent a lot of the rest of the day simply lying on bed reading a book, which suited me nicely. In the evening we hired a film (I was after something happy, animated and not intellectually taxing), so in the absence of Ratatouille we hired Cars, and ate pizza.

This morning, after collecting some chocolate milk and poppies from Walmart, I went with John and sons to Catholic mass for a remembrance day service. We had the Last Post, a 2 minute silence and a version of Reveille, and a few readings and hymns. There was a live band and singers, which was good to listen to, but I recognised none of the hymns and they had run out of hymn books. Still, I had a good go at them.

After lunch I am updating my blog...

  • I heard that Old Boys was good this year, first one I've missed in years! Didn't do much today myself, as there aren't many churches round here, but lots of temples for other religions. Did get on the wrong bus though, and ended up in the middle of Vancouver Int'l Airport instead of Downtown - whoops!

  • Good to get your updates. Your weekend with John sounded just the job, relaxing, fun and with a bit of spiritual enhancement to boot. Am glad you went to a Remembrance Service, for all the right reasons and you'll know that Dad was on parade with the VIP's in town yesterday.

What a busy time you have been having lately, getting your home sorted out and looking at equipment for the winter season. The ski boots look fab and we will all be very jealous. With all the dashing about you are doing you will certainly be ski fit for the coming season!

Its a lovely autumnal day hear, clear, fresh and bright. I saw some gliders over Westbury yesterday but they weren't up for long and they didn't come to close to the golf course. Am off to Upavon on Thursday so my eyes will be skyward (when I can allow that lapse in concentration...)

Take care, Good luck this week. AML
